Following the departure of former Chief Executive, Dr Kate Chamberlain, last month Alun Jones was appointed interim Chief Executive of Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) for a period of 6 months with immediate effect.
We have decided with immediate effect to pause the production and publication of reports from inspections at NHS healthcare settings that took place prior to the announcement of our inspection pause.
Our Deputy Chief Executive Alun Jones has written to all our registered settings outlining how we’ve responded to the Cornonavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve stopped most visits we make to healthcare settings in line with official guidance. This includes visits we make as part of the Review Service for Mental Health in Wales.
